On May the 9th, Prentiss County Sheriff's Department received a report of a stolen dog in the Thrasher Community. During the course of the investigation, Investigators determined that the pet was stolen and pitted against two bulldogs as a training exercise for the pits. The remains of the stolen animal were not recovered. This was a vicious and cruel act by the suspects. The stolen dog was a family pet and didn't have a chance of survival against the two Pit bulls. Four arrests have been made in the incident. One juvenile was charged and released to his parents and three adults. Phillip Grizzard, age 18 of 65 CR 8200 Rienzi, was charged with dog theft but didn't have anything to do with the fighting of the animals. His bond was set at$5,000. Tevin Barnard Williams, age 17 of 104 Horton Rd Booneville, was charged with Dog Theft, Dog Fighting, and a couple of misdemeanor charges. His bond was set at $20,000. Terran A Spears age, 18 of 100 Jacinto Road Booneville, is charged with Dog Theft and Dog Fighting with his bond set at $20,000. This is a very serious crime with serious consequences. The dog fight was not a organized episode but it was evident to the investigators that this had taken place other times before this incident.
