Prentiss County Deputies and Investigators were called to investigate the burglary of a Frankstown Business early Monday morning. Investigators acted quickly and took two suspects into custody shortly after receiving the report. The suspects were charged with burglary and larceny of a commercial building and their bonds have been set at $10,000 each. Both remain in custody at this time. Arrested were Steven Earnest Coulter age 51 of #4 CR 7450 Booneville and Jason Dewayne Cole age 24 of 4 CR 7450 Booneville. It turned out that the burglary had occurred over the previous weekend and wasn't discovered until Monday morning. A variety of items were taken in the burglary mostly tools, watches and other misc. items. Much of which has been recovered after diligent efforts on the part of our investigators. Sammy Henderson and Roy Ragin did a great job in taking the initiative and following up on every lead working almost nonstop.

Investigators are still investigating the burglary the previous week of another business very near by, in which numerous pairs of new boots and footwear were stolen. We are trying to determine any connection between the two burglaries. On Jan 25th, Prentiss County Deputies David Berrios and Ron Brewer arrested Timothy Olive, aka Timothy Tidwell age 39 of 8091 CR 600 Booneville and Cathy Mauney Shadburn age 48 of 752 CR 7301 Booneville after a traffic stop on CR 7301. The Officers recovered Crack Cocaine, Methamphetamine, precursors and a handgun. Subsequently Prentiss County Narcotics Officer Joey Clark and Booneville City Narcotics Josh Davis and Prentiss County Deputies executed a search warrant at Shadburns residence and recovered a Meth Lab. Olive aka Tidwell is charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Precursors and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, along with attempt to manufacture Methamphetamine. Shadburn is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Precursors, and attempt to manufacture methamphetamine. The Drug Charges lodged against the pair are enhanced because of the possession of the firearm.

This was a great job on the part of the Patrol Deputies initiating the case and the Narcotics Officers following up with the search. I am proud of all those involved in the case. No bond has been set at this time on either suspect.

On the morning of 01/14/2009 Prentiss County Narcotics Investigator Joey Clark arrested Jason D. Cutshall- 33, 41 Willow Lane, Belmont after a traffic stop in the Burton/Cairo area. Officers recovered a substantial quantity of methamphetamine and five firearms, three long guns and two handguns. Cutshall was charged with possession of controlled substance with the intent to sell or distribute. His bond was set at $5,000 and he was released on bond. Investigator Clark has done an outstanding job in the field of Narcotics and I am proud to have an employee that works as hard and selfless as he does.

On 01/12/2009, Daniel Gordon Corbett, age 24 , of 187 CR 1341 Booneville, was arrested on CR 1361 by Prentiss County Deputies and was charged with Attempted Grand Larceny in the attempted theft of a Craftsman riding lawn mower from a CR 1361 residence. He was caught in the act of the theft by the home owner and a relative and fled the scene leaving his truck behind. He was arrested a short time later, after returning for his truck. He remains in custody at this time awaiting an initial appearance.

On 12/23/2008, Prentiss County Deputies arrested Jody Deas age 35. Deas was a fugitive from the State of Florida and was also wanted in the State of South Carolina. Deputies arrested him on Ripley Road, Baldwyn without incident. Deputies used extra caution when making the arrest knowing that Deas had an extensive criminal history including violence against officers. He is being held without bond pending extradition back to Florida. The Sheriff's Department had received information, a tip, about Deas presence in Prentiss County the previous day, and contacted Florida and obtained a copy of the warrant.


On 01/01/2009 , Prentiss County Deputies arrested Samuel Dewayne Miller age 24 of CR 1210 Booneville after an attempted traffic stop and then a lengthy pursuit that lead into Tippah County and then back into Prentiss County before wrecking at the intersection of Hwy 4 and Dry Creek Road. He was charged with several misdemeanor crimes along with DUI third offense and Felony Fleeing. Miller's bond was set at $10,000 and was released Friday 01/02.


In the early morning hours of 01/02/2009, Prentiss County Deputies made a traffic stop in Baldwyn on 5th Street and arrested Tammi Gay Treadway age 40, whose current address is 1071 CR 183 Blue Springs. Treadway was wanted out of Texas on felony charges. She remains in custody awaiting extradition.


All these cases exemplify great work on the part of all the officers involved and they did a great job and no one was seriously hurt.
